Alaska Rainbow Lodge specializes in Rainbow Trout Fishing

Finest Alaska Trout Fishing Lodge

Rainbow trout fishing is our specialty at Alaska Rainbow Lodge. The worlds largest Rainbow Trout, some trout up to 18 pounds, come from this awesome resource here in Bristol Bay, Alaska, making us a truly unparalleled Alaska trout fishing lodge. Alaska Rainbow Lodge will provide you with a real chance of catching the largest native Rainbow Trout of your life. Our Home river, the Kvichack, will consistently produce more Rainbow Trout in excess of 28″ than any other river in Alaska – Rainbow Trout as large as 34″ are caught each season.

If you want to catch a true trophy Rainbow Trout, you will want to be on the Kvichack River in June or in the Fall. June is a time when we can swing big streamers and leeches on the Kvichack, Kukalak or Naknek for those huge Rainbows. Every day, trout over ten pounds are hooked.

Alaska’s Greatest Dry Fly Sight Fishing

June is the best time for unbelievable dry fly fishing. Dry flies are used to match our early season hatches. Sight fishing with dry flies is always popular and productive this time of the year.

Alaska Rainbow Lodge is one of only 6 lodges allowed to park a jet boat on the American River – this is a special concession. The American is undoubtedly the finest dry fly fishing river for Trophy Rainbow Trout in Alaska. Alaska Rainbow Lodge’s guests enjoy this special privilege. [read stories on our Fishing Blog!]

We fish Alaska Arctic Char all season

Arctic Char (June 8 – Oct 1st)

The Arctic Char is Alaska’s most beautiful fish when in their spawning colors. They also grow to a great size. We have some spectacular Char fishing during the entire season at Alaska Rainbow Lodge. Our anglers will consistently land fish in the 30″ class and will have days in excess of 25 fish per rod.

Leopard Rainbow Trout (July 5th- August 25)

July and August is the time to fish several of those remote walk-in streams. These are small streams loaded with Leopard Rainbow Trout following the Sockeye Salmon up to spawn. Still plenty of Char and Grayling around. The fishing is great with 15-18 fish days common – these beautiful rainbows average 20-26″.

Fall Rainbows (Aug 20 – Sept 30)

We once again target those big fat Rainbows in September. Every guest can get the opportunity of casting to Rainbows over ten pounds. This is the time of true trophy Rainbow trout, shotgunning and Silver fishing at our remote camp. Colder wetter weather, but action galore. Char are in spawning colors and they are BIG!
