We are 18 air miles down the Kvichak river from the majestic Iliamna Lake – the largest lake in Alaska.
Alaska Rainbow Lodge is located in the heart of Bristol Bay.
Our lodge has the best of two worlds: 1st: the Kvichak, our home river, has the largest salmon run in the world, and consistently produces the largest Alaska Rainbow Trout; 2nd: we are only 15-25 minutes flight time away from ALL the premier Alaska Rainbow Trout streams in the Bristol Bay region. We hand-picked our location for the best Alaska Fly Fishing.
We are located in the ONLY designated Trophy Rainbow Trout area in all of Alaska.
We are 20 minutes by float plane from the famous Katmai National Park and Preserve – the land of steaming volcanoes, turquoise lakes, glistening glaciers and the valley of 10,000 smokes! Flightseeing and photo-outings to this natural wonderland are part of our Alaska Fishing Trips. More information on the Katmai National Park can be found through the National Park Service website.

June 1 – September 28: Trophy Alaska Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, Grayling and Pike. Check out our fly fishing with Alaska Rainbow Lodge page for more info.
June 15 – July 25: King Salmon. We fish 3 great rivers for King Salmon: Nushagak, Alagnak & Naknek. The Nushagak river has the largest King Salmon run in the world! Read more about our spectacular Alaska Salmon Fishing.
June 28 – July 20: Sockeye Salmon. Our Alaska Fishing Lodge enjoys the largest Sockeye Salmon run in the world – millions swim right past our front door every year!
July 20 – Aug 20: Chum Salmon. This is an excellent fighting fish on a fly rod – it’s Alaska Fly Fishing at its best.
July 25 – September 25: Silver Salmon. When fished with a fly rod, we rate the Silver as the most agressive and the best jumper of all Pacific Salmon.
